On this day we went to the Tower of London.
The Tower holds a few things of significance.
One being the Crown Jewels, Including the
Star of Africa
It is the largest cut diamond in the world!
Next only to an ugly brown one only 15 carats bigger.
The Star of Africa is
530 carats!
You know me well enough to know that I would have provided pictures.
But.
They weren't allowed.
This man,
is a guard outside the building
that keeps the Crown Jewels.
He is not allowed to move,
or smile,
or blink.
Hardly.
Leave it to BYU girls
to make him laugh.
Lindsey: "Oh wow, he's pretty cute."
Guard: *Statue*
Lindsey: "Yeah look at those lips! Those look kissable."
Guard: *Full on chuckle* *Statue again*
It was great
This is where they live.
These carvings were all over the room where the prisoners were kept.
While confined in a tower all day,
what else would you do?
It was amazing to see how deep and intricate some of the carvings were.
Creepy tower stairs...
This is my scared face
After the Tower we moseyed over to the Borough Markets.
As soon as we walked in we were handed food samples from just about every booth!
I got to taste some real live Turkish Delight,
a plethora of sweets and chocolate,
some really really good curry,
yummy fried fish,
fresh fruit smoothies,
and lots of other random really good food.
