But I did learn a few phrases just in case!
Parlez-vous anglais
(Do you speak English?)
(Do you speak English?)
Excusez-moi monsieur
(Excuse me sir)
Je suis désolé
Je suis désolé
(I'm Sorry)
Merci
Merci
(Thank You)
Pardon
(Pardon)
I was excited to try them out.
But in reality I was just a chicken.
Whenever I was presented with an opportunity to answer in French
I blanked
and answered in English.
Like I said, I'm lame.
The only phrase I really used was pardon.
And merci.
Quoi qu'il en soit
The first thing we did when we woke up in Paris was... get back on the bus!
We had to get our daily dose of cathedrals, so we went to Chartres
Then off to Versailles!
Versailles was overwhelmingly beautiful,
but it was almost unbearable in that there were so many tourists that all you could do was shuffle in a pack from room to room. And when my audio guide stopped speaking in English and started speaking in French I was just about done with the visit.
Oh how much I could say about Rene Descartes.
He was the cause of a lot of homework in Algebra 2, History of Creativity, Psychology, History of Psychology, Physical Science, World Civilizations, etc. This man was across the board.
How he came to infiltrate all my classes?
Who knows.
The gardens were amazing!!!
And this is what happens when you hand a boy a camera...
yup.
After Versailles it was back to the city to hit up some museums.
Oddly enough a lot of museums are closed on Tuesdays. Tuesdays. Why Tuesdays?
Despite this oddity The Musee D'Orsay was open! So we went to run around and see the Van Gogh exhibit.
It was pretty impressive.
