Ambleside

The morning of day two in the lake district was spent strolling through town. It was a small, quaint town full of rich beauty. The stone houses and lush gardens were nestled together on an expanse of the English countryside.

The Lake District

I couldn't get enough of the English countryside.
While on the coach I must have taken a hundred pictures of the same things out the window.
It was just too beautiful to resist.

Finally the many hours on the coach paid off and we arrived at our destination!

This is the quaint little hostel we stayed at while visiting Ambleside.

There were so many ducks! And they weren't afraid of me sticking a camera lens in their face. Even the baby ducklings weren't camera shy.

Preston England Temple

The Preston Temple was closed for cleaning when we passed through, but we were able to sneak in and take some pictures before we were shooed out by some guards. It was such a beautiful grey day!

Northward we go.

On our journey northward we made several stops. The first stop was the Chatsworth House (aka Pemberley which you have already seen) and the next was the Brontë Parsonage Museum in the former home of the Brontë Sisters, Charlotte, Emily, and Anne. We learned that the moorland setting had a profound influence on the writing of Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë.

The Beauty of Pemberley

We even met Mr. Darcy!
Only Joking...
